About Tracing Town

Tracing Town is a small, independent library of printable handwriting worksheets for preschool and kindergarten children. It began with a simple observation: parents and teachers print tracing sheets by the dozen, yet most worksheet sites are buried in ads, pop-ups and sign-up walls. We built the site we wanted instead — dotted tracing worksheets that open instantly, print cleanly and stay completely free.

Everything here is written and drawn by hand for this project: the letter formation guides, the counting ideas, the CVC word collection and the little online playground. Nothing is scraped, spun or copied from other worksheet sites, and no fonts, images or code are pulled from third parties.

Our approach

• Dotted outlines, not solid grey. Children trace the guide with their own pencil, which teaches the correct stroke path.
• Original teaching copy. Every worksheet page explains the how and why of the skill, written for grown-ups who are teaching at home.
• Print-first design. Worksheets are designed on paper-sized canvases and print cleanly from any browser as PDFs.
• No tracking, no ads, no accounts. The site loads nothing from third parties, which makes it safe to hand to a child.

Who is it for?

Parents introducing letters at home, kindergarten and preschool teachers building a handwriting routine, homeschool families, and early-years tutors. If your child can hold a crayon and enjoys making marks, there is a worksheet here for them.

Tracing Town is a work in progress. The current library covers names, the full alphabet, numbers 0–20 and 60 CVC words, with pre-writing strokes and an online playground. More letter sets, digraph words and printable bundles are planned next.
