Privacy Policy

Tracing Town is built for children and the adults who teach them, so we keep our data practices as simple as we can and describe them here in plain words. This page explains exactly what the site does today.

What we collect

The site uses Google Analytics 4 to understand which worksheets and pages are actually useful, so we can improve them. It collects aggregate usage data: the pages you view, your approximate location (country or city, not your street address), the device, operating system and browser you use, and the link that brought you here. IP anonymization is enabled, so your full IP address is not stored by Analytics. We do not collect your name, your email address or anything else that identifies you.

When you use the name tracing generator, the name you type is processed entirely in your own browser and is never sent to our servers — this keeps children's names safe by design.

Advertising

The worksheets are free, and we may display third-party advertisements (for example through Google AdSense) to cover the cost of running the site. Advertising partners may set their own cookies to serve ads, limit how often you see the same ad, and measure performance; some may use them to personalise ads. Our Advertising Disclosure explains this in more detail and lists the opt-out links.

Cookies

Tracing Town does not set cookies of its own. Two kinds of cookies may be present:

How to turn them off. You can block or delete cookies at any time in your browser settings — look under Privacy, Cookies or Site data. Blocking them does not stop you using a single worksheet or tool on this site. You can also switch off Analytics measurement with your browser's tracking-protection settings or a script-blocking extension of your choice, and manage personalised advertising at Google Ads Settings.

Hosting logs

Like any website, our hosting provider may keep standard server logs (such as the requested page and a technical IP address) for security and reliability. We do not use these logs to identify visitors and we do not combine them with any other data.

Children's privacy

The worksheets are designed to be printed and completed on paper; there is nothing on the site that asks a child for personal information, and the analytics figures we look at are totals and trends, never individual children. In line with children's privacy laws such as COPPA and the UK GDPR-K framework, we do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13.

Email contact

If you email us, we keep your message only long enough to reply and resolve your question. We never add email addresses to marketing lists and we never share them with anyone.

Changes and questions

If our data practices change, this policy will be updated and clearly dated before the change takes effect. Questions about privacy can be sent to hello@tracingtown.com.

This policy is written in plain language for families and describes what the site does today; it is not legal advice. Questions are welcome at hello@tracingtown.com.
